We did not start BlueSky to be just another dust collector supplier. We set out to solve the problems inherent in traditional dust collector designs (both mobile and fixed installation)

MOBILE DUST COLLECTORS

Operational problems concerning traditional mobile dust collectors

  • Ducting inlets are located high above the ground at the top of the machine, which forces the ducting hoses to a sharp angle. This quickly causes ripping and cracking.
  • Auger jams are a common occurrence while operating a traditional mobile dust collector (auger moves collected dust out of the bottom compartment). Auger jams happen when wet/dry weather conditions cause the collected dust to cake and harden. Workers must climb inside the machine to break up the hardened dust-cake to remove it.
  • Filter compartments can only be accessed via the roof of the dust collector. This makes for time-consuming filter change-outs.
  • Flat tires and oil leaks are very common..

FIXED INSTALLATION DUST COLLECTORS

Operational problems concerning traditional stationary dust collectors

  • Ducting inlets are located high above the ground, which means duct installation requires ladders lifts or scaffolding. This is time-consuming, adds to the overall cost, and increases down-time
  • Dust is collected in drums at the bottom of the machine. There are serious issues with the handling of the collected dust. Spills are common and because service personnel is chronically lax about using the required PPE (personal protection equipment), companies open themselves up to lawsuits.
  • Filter change-outs are time-consuming because the filter compartment can only be reached with a ladder. Also here, service personnel is often exposed to dust.

The BlueSky dust collector is a two-in-one machine. It functions as a mobile dust collector as well as a fixed-installation dust collector

A BlueSky® dust collector consists of two, three or more sections

The BlueSky® dust collection system is truly modular and plug & play. Sections can be added at any time. Your dust collector grows as your need for capacity grows. This on-demand-capacity feature of a BlueSky dust collector can result in substantial energy savings.

10,000 CFM Dust Collector

10,000 cfm dust collector

Regular 10,000 CFM Dust Collector

10,000 CFM dust collector outfitted with Merv14/15 filters (F8 European configuration).  In this setup, the SmartBox has a removable dust reservoir (Sump).

Independent 21HP (15KW), 3Ø 480V/380V electric motors (30 A) power the ultraquiet (Whisper) radial fans. Airflow through each fan can be independently adjusted on the control panel (frequency control). If utility power is not available (field conditions), an auxiliary diesel/ gas generator can be easily used to operate this dust collector.

10,000-cfm-dust collector with HEPA filtration

10,000 CFM Dust Collector with HEPA Filtration

Any BlueSky Gladiator dust collector can be outfitted with a HEPA filtration module (from the outside a HEPA filtration module looks exactly the same as a SmartBox with primary filters).

The HEPA module is a secondary filtering unit that utilizes HEPA filters (H13 classification). Secondary HEPA filtration is essential when dealing with hazardous toxic or radioactive dust-types, or when the dust collector needs to be placed inside a facility without an external vent. The HEPA filtration module removes >99.97% of dust (with reference to 0.3μm particle size). Such filtering standards are considered suitable for clean return-air into a facility (e.g. return air for climate control).

BlueSky Gladiators come in a variety of sizes

All BlueSky® Gladiator® dust collectors can be outfitted with a HEPA filtration module if needed. Find out more about the other size dust collectors BlueSky offers.

One of the many attributes that make all BlueSky dust collectors stand out from the pack is their ease of use and their versatility. Each size in the BlueSky® Gladiator® line-up is expandable, even after it has been put in place. This is done by simply adding another section. This need may arise when a project unexpectedly requires HEPA filtration or when a project needs to handle more dust than anticipated.
