The key issue with conventional cartridge and bag house dust collectors is the steep performance drop off after the initial 1-2 months of use. There are two key design drivers that allow a DragonSlayer™ system to maintain consistent airflow and filtration for months to over a year depending on the project’s dust types and conditions. The first is configuring the machine with the correct air-to-cloth ratio. In simple terms, most systems try to force too much dirty air through too little filter media causing performance to drop before a single shift is completed in some cases.  The second is the pulse-cleaning method for the filters. Most systems employ only low-pressure pulsing which does not properly knock the captured dust cake off of the filters, causing build-up and blockage over time. 

To solve these key issues, the DragonSlayer™ system is comprised of modular stacks which allow the air-to-cloth ratio to be optimized for each application by simply adding or removing filter stacks. 

In addition, the DragonSlayer combines high pressure pulse-cleaning (JetPack™ module) with automated PLC cycling of individual stacks. Combined with PLC-controlled automatic fan speed adjustment, the DragonSlayer system can bring consistent airflow performance, even for continuous 24/7 operation where most systems would fully clog within weeks. No offline pulsing required.

Yes, the BlueSky® Gladiator mobile dust collector comes standard with True HEPA (>99.97% @0.3microns), is used in a variety of hazardous applications from lead paint stripping and repair, to thermal arc-spray producing Hex chrome dust. For the most hazardous dust types such as radiated dust applications, an optional secondary (police) True HEPA stage can be added, and onsite DOP testing of the complete system can be completed. 

Airflow requirements depend on the capture method (room capture or point-source capture). For room capture, the key parameters to determine are the volume of the containment area and the desired air changes per hour (ACH). For point-source capture, the cross-sectional area, estimated distance from the dust/fume generation source, and general environment surrounding the capture point (windy outdoor location or controlled indoor area) are the key inputs. The BlueSky® technical team can assist further in determining the correct airflow and dust collector/negative air machine needed based on these parameters.

BlueSky® machines are all-electric, avoiding the maintenance hassle of combustion engines. Power plugs are provided with each machine which can either be connected to facility power or to a generator depending on what is available at the job site.

Yes, all BlueSky dust collectors can be configured with explosion vents and filters that have anti-static coatings for various explosion-risk applications from agricultural and food to refractories and metal fabrication.

BlueSky® machines are designed for outdoor and indoor applications from mobile field work to permanent indoor facility installations. Ambient operating environments can range from 25˚F to 130˚F.

BlueSky® machines are electric-powered, have no diesel motors, and no hydraulics. Maintenance is simply replacing filters, which can be out-sourced with BlueSky® Turnkey service.  They are designed to be plug-and-play systems which do not have to be touched again after the initial setup, optimized for field work, temporary applications, and challenging project work.

BlueSky® machines can be trailer mounted or in roll-off containers. For the highest dust loading applications, bulk bags or drums can be placed underneath the machine and legs installed for easy captured dust removal. A BlueSky system configured with legs is still easily movable with an onsite forklift using the forklift pockets on the machine.
