Can BlueSky® systems handle both dust and gaseous contaminants at the same time?
Yes. BlueSky systems can be configured to handle both particulate dust and gaseous contaminants simultaneously using HEPA filtration and Sentinel™ proprietary activated carbon technology. A common application of this functionality is lead-paint repair on bridges and large metal parts where one BlueSky Sentinel system can be used for establishing negative air pressure on the containment area for the initial grit-blasting (lead and blast media dust) and the later paint/coating application (VOCs).

How do I know what Airflow my facility or project needs?
Airflow requirements depend on the capture method (room capture or point-source capture). For room capture, the key parameters to determine are the volume of the containment area, and the desired air changes per hour (ACH). For point-source capture, the cross-sectional area, estimated distance from the dust/fume generation source, and general environment surrounding the capture point (windy outdoor location or controlled indoor area) are the key inputs. The BlueSky® technical team can assist further in determining the correct airflow and dust collector/negative air machine needed based on these parameters.
